Microsoft Rewards & Xbox: current guide
Last reviewed: July 2026Microsoft Rewards is a free programme connected to your Microsoft account. You can earn points for eligible searches, selected activities, purchases and selected Xbox games or quests, then redeem the rewards that are currently offered in your market.
Start with the official Rewards dashboard. You must be signed in with the same account on Bing, Xbox, Microsoft Store and the mobile apps for eligible activity to be attributed correctly.
Quick start
- Open the Rewards dashboard and check the Earn page for the offers available to you today.
- Complete the daily set, quizzes and other activities only when they are shown in your account.
- On Xbox, open the Rewards app and check the current Xbox or Game Pass activities.
- Before redeeming, check the price, region, expiry date and full terms for that specific reward.
Current ways to earn
Bing searches
Search points and daily limits depend on your level, market and account. Limits are shown in the dashboard and are not a reliable fixed number.
Daily activities
The daily set, quizzes, polls and other activities change regularly. Open the current offer instead of relying on an old points table.
Xbox activities
Selected games and quests may award points on Xbox. Availability and requirements vary; not every Game Pass game or achievement is a quest.
Microsoft Store
Only eligible purchases earn points. Microsoft explicitly notes that purchases on Xbox may not earn points in every country or region.
Mobile
The Bing app, Edge and other mobile entry points can offer rewards, but mobile methods and caps are region-dependent.
Special campaigns
Promotions and bonus campaigns are temporary. Treat any points estimate outside the dashboard as an approximation only.
Level 1 and Level 2
Microsoft currently documents two Rewards status levels. Level 2 is reached and retained by earning at least 500 points in a month. The exact search limits, discounts and offers must still be checked in your own dashboard because they vary by market.
| Level 1 | Level 2 |
|---|---|
| Default status after joining Microsoft Rewards. | Earn 500 points in a month to reach or keep the status. |
| Standard earning limits and offers for your market. | Higher Bing earning limits, savings on selected redemptions and additional offers may be available. |
| Microsoft can change limits and benefits. The dashboard always overrides this summary. | |
Redeeming points
There is no permanent conversion such as “1,000 points equals €1”. Points have no cash value, and the catalogue and prices vary by region, account and stock. Do not rely on the old Game Pass, Xbox Live Gold or fixed gift-card tables that previously appeared on this page.
- Redeem only in the country or region where the points were earned.
- Do not use a VPN, proxy or VoIP number during redemption or verification.
- Check the reward’s own terms and expiry information before confirming.
- Microsoft and Xbox gift cards may be deposited directly into the Microsoft account balance.
Stay within the programme rules
Do not use bots, macros, scripts, emulators, automated searches, rapid repeated queries or multiple accounts to farm points. These behaviours can trigger earning limits, invalidate points or suspend the account. There is also no general “family transfer trick” that should be used as a way around earning limits.
